Who we are
Cyclists of all kinds from all over the city who want to see cycling taken seriously as a means of transport, and given the facilities it needs.
What we do
Write letters, run a stall, meet with the council and other interested parties, have meetings, run socials, go for rides, go to conferences, have fun!
What you can do
Simply joining helps a lot, by demonstrating the extent of support for cycling and keeping our bank balance in credit. Come to meetings if you have time, come out on our rides, help with the stall or National Bike Week, go leafletting in the city, recruit new members - just do as much or as little as you can manage.
Where we are
Sheffield is the fourth largest city in England by population. It is located in South Yorkshire, where the North of England meets the East Midlands. It is easy to get to, since it is at the centre of Britain's 'Intercity' rail connections and the National Cycle Network will take you right to the heart of the city.
Sheffield is close to the Peak District national park, an area of outstanding natural beauty popular with cyclists.

Our Policies
Sheffield Cycle Campaign Policies
Our Rides
We organize a Tuesday night ride during BST and a seasonal Sunday all-day ride - one for each of the seasons. Our biggest ride of the year tends to be our Wednesday night ride during National Bike Week. Additionally we organize occasional rides informally, when one of us feels like it, or when there's something interesting we'd like to take a look at, like a new cycle route or a new bridge. Obviously you need lights for our winter night ride, and the brighter the better!
We usually meet at Barkers Pool, outside the City Hall at 6:00 p.m. but please email cycleshefmail at shu.ac.uk or tweet @cyclesheffield to confirm. We use Twitter to notify members when there's a ride - follow @cycleSheffield.
We have rides to suit all abilities. Sometimes we just take a short ride to a cafe or pub in town, and sometimes we set off further afield. Sometimes rides are mainly off-road, and sometimes mainly on, although we try to avoid major trunk routes as far as possible - they're just no fun. We pace our rides so that no-one gets left behind, and sometimes we can't keep up!
When we've decided on a ride we put it on our Events Diary which is here.
The Sheffield Section of the CTC DA (District Association) also put on rides and their website is here
If you'd like to come on a ride and would like to know more about it, contact us by email or phone or text 07855 194238.
